Great location and clean. Just right for a weekend getaway

I needed to think about my stay before writing this review. What I want/need could be different from what others may want/need. My family and I had a great time. The location is fantastic in relation to the beach (2 blocks) and dozens of places to eat and shop. The staff was very friendly and the motel was very clean. A very small refrigerator/freezer and tiny microwave were in our room. Assuming that's the same for all rooms. Free on-site parking, free wi-fi, a nice size pool and fair room prices round things out. Now to the other stuff. 1. No elevators. I have stayed at motels in Delaware and Maryland before and I knew there was no elevator at this 3 story motel. So, when I made my reservation I made sure to book a room on the first floor. 2. The motel had a lot of families with kids staying on the floors above us. So the downside to a first floor room is all the foot traffic you hear above you. Kids tend to be excited on vacation so we heard LOTS of footsteps while trying to get some sleep. 3. No ice machine. If you plan on bringing a cooler with you to the beach, you'll have find a place that sells ice. Luckily there is a convenience store on the way to the beach. I did see one soda machine at the motel, but that was all. Did not see any snack machines. I think they served coffee at the front desk, but no food items at all. 4. The rooms are cooled by a wall unit air conditioner, not central air. I felt this caused the room to feel a tad damp. 5. Our double room with twin beds was small. I had to put a chair near the wall a/c unit so the air wasn't blowing directly on me while sleeping. 6. The wall a/c units made the room feel a little damp. 7. The bathroom is tiny. So small I had to step to the side of the toilet in order to open the bathroom door and exit. Good water pressure in the shower though. 8. Old tv's. They were flat screens, but not smart tv's. 9. Carpet. I don't know why beach motels/hotels have carpeting. I would prefer vinyl, tile or laminate. Just a personal preference. So, with all of these negative points, why the 4 star rating? (Actually would have given 3 1/2 stars, but there are no half star rating options.) The reason I came to Rehoboth was to go to the beach, period. It was not to stay at some fancy hotel, get up late and watch tv. Sure I could have paid a heck of a lot more to stay somewhere else, but this motel met my needs for the length of stay. We arrived on a Wednesday night and checked out on a Saturday. I think that was a perfect amount of time and would stay here again for the same duration
